NEW YORK, June 3, 2026 — Today at Insurtech Insights USA in New York, Buddy, the insurance commerce infrastructure company, announced the launch of a distribution platform partnership, built in collaboration with Stripe's Apps and Financial Services teams. Through a new Buddy-to-Stripe App protocol connection, any insurance product indexed on Buddy's platform is immediately distributable through Stripe, giving carriers and MGAs with binding authority direct distribution to businesses running on Stripe. These businesses can now add insurance products to their dashboard, apply, and complete a purchase without leaving Stripe.
The initial launch features commercial lines products including general liability and cyber liability from several carriers with more commercial lines products to follow.
Insurance has never had a common distribution standard. Every carrier builds proprietary digital infrastructure for its own lines of business, and connecting to a new platform required a custom build for each carrier and product. No company could access insurance at scale without managing hundreds of one-off integrations. Buddy's ION Engine resolves that constraint.
